Stu: "Dear Mikkel,
I love your new work - as I do all your work. I
only wish I could afford to buy it. :)I'm glad your fame
is spreading.
From
reading "Quality of
collectors print" , I get the
impression that you do not do your own printing.
Is that
true? As a "serious amateur"
photographer, I'm just curious to know.
Continued
success and warmest regards"
Hi Stu,
It's like
this... well, I used to spend a lot of time in
the darkroom myself and I know my way around
there rather well. But I know people who often do
a better job than me in the darkroom, especially
on the larger sizes of photos which I simply
don't have the equipment inhouse to do well... so
I often use good people, and give them very
precise instructions as to what I want, so
"my fingerprints are still all over it"
you might say.
The most
important part of the creation takes place when
the photo is taken, that's anyway how it is to
me. The rest is often a purely technical and to
me less interesting matter, not really part of
the actual creative process. This is true for me,
but not neccearily for other photographers work
methode, some do a lot of creative chemical
experiments in the darkroom.
In the end,
what's important to me is, that the final piece
of work is exactly what I want it to be, and the
quality and chemistry is unchallenged.
Warmest regards
to you too!
:-)
Mikkel
